about
Irving Dyson Jr. was born and raised in Southern Maryland—alongside seven older sisters (yes, seven!). He discovered his love for storytelling after playing Puck in his high school’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and he's been chasing it ever since.
Now based in New York City, Irving has performed across the country, from the immersive spectacle of Peter Pan 360 to the magic of Broadway in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. On screen, he made a guest-starring appearance on HBO’s The Deuce.
Outside of performing, Irving is a dedicated teaching artist, working with students throughout New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. He’s taught with Norwalk Academy, Stagedoor Manor, The Gathering, The Leadership Program (serving Title I schools), and is currently on faculty at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
When he’s not in a theater, you’ll probably find him walking through the city, exploring a new neighborhood, or in a classroom connecting with and inspiring the next generation of artists.
Irving Dyson Jr. is an actor, coach, writer and creator.
